YOUR FAVORITE SONGS TO KARAOKE

All right, karaoke fans... what songs do you usually do for karaoke night (be it in public, or on your karaoke machine at home)?

I don't really have particular favorites.. I do so many different ones that I just like to go for variety.

Tho' I do like "Epic" by Faith No More, "She's A Lady" by Tom Jones, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce and "On The Dark Side" by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, to name a few.

YOUR FAVORITE SONGS TO KARAOKE

Greetings, NewWomn.  I've never smoked, as it really dries out your throat.  I have to keep drinking something due to people around me lighting up all the time.  I stick to soda as refills are free!

I like doing Sara Smile as well.  That one and I Can't Go For That.

I'll do a song someone requests if I know it.  People will tell me, "you don't need to know it, you just read the lyrics."  You do indeed want to know the song if you don't want to suck.  My sister did that to me twice last night, and I refused.

If you have a song you want to do and don't know if it's available as a karaoke version, check out karaokestar.com.  Type up either the song title (in quotation marks), or the artist to see what they have available, under the search option.  Then maybe jot down the song number and submit it to your DJ.  They might be able to find it for you.

Ever entered a karaoke contest?

YOUR FAVORITE SONGS TO KARAOKE

Thanks retro...

Yeah, smoking does a number on the voice for sure! I'm glad to be done with it. It was a tremendous monkey OFF my back.  I don't know how some singers do it (professional ones at that)...

You MOST DEFINITELY should know the song...I've been caught up before doing a song for someone and realizing I didn't have a CLUE how the verses went...all I knew was the chorus...totally SUCKS and I'll tell the audience that too...not shy getting up in front of folks, that's for sure... I've ALWAYS been an alto so I don't have a big high-low range as it is and a lot of times I'm sure you understand, they don't realize that it's virtually impossible to hit a note you just can't hit. And you can ask the DJ to bring it down a notch or too so far...

I will check out that site, in fact I'll add it to my favorites.

Nope, never entered one and around here they don't have them often...well, I say that but I just haven't gone out as much the past few years but that's picking up and I'm finding more places to sing - which is one of my favorite things to do...

YOUR FAVORITE SONGS TO KARAOKE

Barry White's "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love Babe" and  "Never Never Gonna Give You Up" always kill for me on "Karaoke Night"! I have a pretty deep voice so "The Bee Gees" are out of my repertoire. I can't seem to reach those high notes anymore.

Definetly Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi. It's just something about the way a hundred drunk people simultaneously yelling "Wanted!!"  brings a smile to your face.
