I don't have any at this moment, but I am on the look out for a Galaga machine.  There's no telling how many quarters I spent on that game.

I don't have any also, but I sure would like to get Ms. Pac Man one day. Also, my next favorite was Dig Dug. Maybe one day I can get them for a good price. Arcades were the best..........

Dig Dug was my favorite game forever and ever, and is probably still.  One of the few that I was really, really good at.

Ms. Pac Man and Galaga are probably the most famous choices for collectors.  I'd recommend the cocktail version (the sit-down-to-play) of these games, as they are MUCH easier for you and another person to carry!  Also, get yourself a soldering kit.  You will need it as the solder on the circuit board connections gets weak and needs fixing here and there. 

Check the Nickel Ads or Classifieds under For Sale/Video Games (or maybe Miscellaneous For Sale) to see if anyone has your game.  Just be wary if they're going too cheap, because you could really get screwed if you don't pay at least a few hundred.  Also, check out the Video Arcade Game Collector's Webring to see how other arcade game fans collect theirs, or how they keep them in shape.  Unless you make a pretty penny from your job, I wouldn't recommend filling your garage with these.  A few, in my opinion, is just perfect.

Galaga was one of my favorites also, but I was very good at Dig Dug. Thanks for the recommendations. I will definately consider all those options in finding a good deal instead of a screwy one.

I've been an arcade freak since middle school, and I own tons that are still in my old bedroom because I couldn't take any but my dear "Tommy" pinball machine to college with me, I also own a "Cyclone" pinball machine, and a Miss Pacman.

I'm also not sure if they count, but also in my old room are a fooseball table, an air hockey table, and a pool table.

Also, folks, if you wanted to know more about a game you have vague memories of and might want to collect it someday, check out klov.com.  They have pretty much every arcade game ever made and details about game play, manufacturer, year, type of hardware it runs on, etc.  Also screenshots, pics of the cabinet/cocktail, and marquee are usually shown.  A great "memory lane" website.

I suppose we could include foosball, air hockey and pinball in the discussion, though I didn't really think of them initially.

Many arcade purists would disagree with you about Joust, as would I.  To each their own, though.

I do love Robotron 2084, but it's one of the louder video games I ever heard, much like Defender.  My poor eardrums!

In case anyone is still reading this blog, and wants to purchase a machine someday, check craigslist.  There are lots of foosball tables, pinball machines, and yes, arcade games for sale.  You can find sellers in your general area.  Check ebay too.

All right!  Just picked up a NEO GEO machine yesterday!  Got it in my living room across from my Phoenix machine.  Works great and has Bust-A-Move, World Heroes (not installed), Samurai Shodown II, SNK vs. Capcom, and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special.  The games fit in the machine like a dream; they're shaped like VHS tapes and just press down into the slots.  Cool deal!
