ALL-TIME BUSTS (NFL)

Posted on: January 24, 2008 4:01 pm

Whereas the NBA has had its share of non-impact players, so has the NFL.  Throw out some of the crappiest, most highly-regarded college stars that amounted to a big fat zero on an NFL field.  Players that are now earning minimum wage somewhere.

ALL-TIME BUSTS (NFL)

Todd Marinovich, Ryan Leaf, Ciatrick Fason, and that guy that SI did the story on that ended up in green bay....can't remember his name.  Back in the late eighties the ran a piece on him and touted him the next big thing only to see him flame out.

ALL-TIME BUSTS (NFL)

My list of NFL busts would have to include Brian Bosworth, Blair Thomas, Andre Ware, and the guy you were thinking of fupped, Tony Mandarich.  Also, I would include Ricky Williams.

ALL-TIME BUSTS (NFL)

Soon to be making minimum wage somewhere.... Troy Williamson.

Ciatrick Fason didn't do much in the NFL, but he wasn't really highly regarded coming out of college, was he?  I think he was a 5th or 6th round draft pick.

ALL-TIME BUSTS (NFL)

Ricky Williams a bust?  Injury prone? Yes. Junkie? Sure. But I don't think he can be thrown in with the Ryan Leaf / Cade McNown / Akili Smith crowd.

ALL-TIME BUSTS (NFL)

There are a lot of good entries here.  If you want to go way back, one of the more notorious all-time busts is Terry Baker, QB  out of Oregon State.  Heisman winner and "played" for the Rams, acheiving absolutely zip.  Funny how a lot of the NFL busts are QBs.  On that note, I'm gonna throw in Gino Torretta as well.  Ouch!
